My name is Charleston. I had a hard time the first year of my life as I had to live in a kennel just large enough to hold me and did not get much to eat either. I was rescued by a nice lady and this last year my foster mommy has given me a great deal of time, love, and attention helping me to become much more secure. I have learned how to play and to like other dogs and people too. Now I am comforting and sweet and I would love to be a therapy dog if I ever had the opportunity!
I was doing wonderfully and even had hopes of a forever home until I got Rocky Mountain Spotted Tick Fever recently. The vet ran blood work and x-rays to see what might be wrong. She did not know what it was at first and we were worried I might have had a stroke. I made a complete recovery with no long-term effects but have a huge vet bill of over $300. The vet said it happens that quickly and is not all that uncommon. The night before I was fine and the next morning I could not stand up!
Now I am ready again for adoption and a happy forever home with people that love me!
