Volunteers can do just about anything they are willing to volunteer their time with. Fostering in home, Pet Therapy, distributing flyers and brochures, getting the word out in the community about HAND. Volunteers don't just have to foster, but can do almost anything that will help HAND and directly benefit the homeless animals!
Foster:Many of the animals we rehabilitate need one on one treatment. Being a foster home for a rescue animals sometimes involves more than just providing a safe backyard. It involves rehabilitating the animal (trips to participating veterinarian hospitals) and you may have to work with the animal and socialize the animal to other people and other animals in the foster household in order for them to become more adoptable. It is not easy, but it is one of the most rewarding things you can do. If you can provide a temporary home please email us at: foster@handfoundation.com
Lend a HAND at Paddlefest 2005 (see time slots below):
- Event day set-up and take down: Friday, September 16th and Sunday, September 18th
- Camping Registration: Friday, September 16th 10am until 11pm and Saturday 7am until
- Photography: on land or water (will provide disposable water camera(s) for water)
- Safety boat: we can provide a boat must have experience on river
- Registration for Races: 3 different registrations
- Starting & Finishing Lines: Starting line, help with making sure all those racing have paddles, life jacket on, have any questions, need powerade or water- finish line, help with counting flags, marking times, getting boats out of the way
- Dinner reservations: During end of races sell dinner tickets
- Clean up Crew: just as it sounds, help out Sunday, September 18th with campgrounds and fields
